Lanterman House

"A Resource Precious & Rare: Development of Water Resources in the Crescenta-Canada Valley, 1875-1955"

Now through Fall 2018

Visit the Lanterman House in La CaƱada Flintridge to enjoy a special exhibition about the local history of water use. Featuring rare photographs, manuscripts and artifacts, the exhibition is installed throughout the historic 1915 house. Learn how the unique geology of the San Gabriel foothills made the development and distribution of water resources uniquely challenging for early residents, and how they worked together to overcome those challenge.


Summer Whites Picnic and Ukulele Rendezvous

Celebrate the arrival of Summer on the grounds of the historic Lanterman House.

Sunday, May 27th, Noon - 4 PM.

Dress in your summer whites (any era or style you like) and bring a picnic.

Dance in the historic ballroom to the music of Randy Woltz and perhaps other guest musicians.

Bring your ukulele, guitar, banjo, fiddle or other portable acoustic instrument and make sweet music with old and new friends in and around the house.

Bring the kids for old fashioned games and family fun.

The Lanterman Music Fund

The Lanterman Music fund is a special fundraising effort to support the preservation and management of the Lanterman sheet music collection and the live performance of classic American music at the Lanterman House -- events such as the annual Lanterman Ragtime Tea Dance.

The Lanterman's Paint Restorer

The Lanterman Foundation would like to recognize Landmark Decorative Painting & Restoration for their excellent recent work in restoring the house.


Hours:
Tours are provided Tuesday, Thursday, and the first and third Sundays of the month from 1:00 p.m - 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed on all major holidays.

Admission:
Adults $5.00. Seniors and Students (12 - 18 years old) $3.00. Children under 12 are free with adult admission (children must be accompanied by an adult at all times - no strollers are permitted in the house).

Group Tour Schedule:
Groups of ten or more, Tuesday and Thursday mornings (and one Wednesday morning each month) by appointment.
